    A Kent skier has been selected for the GB team to compete in the 2017 Universiade - the equivalent of the Winter Olympics for university students. 

    Laurence Willows is a former pupil of Wilmington Grammar School for Boys in Dartford and is the British Number One in Skicross. 

    In February next year he'll compete against many of the world's best young skiers in Kazakhstan.

    A university student union has apologised after backlash on social media for using Zayn Malik and Sadiq Khan to front its Black History Month campaign.

    Kent Union came under fire on social media for picking the One Direction star and the London Mayor, with students and critics raising concerns that that neither is what they described as black and both come from British Pakistani families.

    Medway’s Rachael Burford has been recalled to the England squad for their autumn internationals.

    England play France, New Zealand and Canada in the Old Mutual Wealth series at Twickenham, as well as an away match against Ireland next month.

    The 30-year-old centre returns to the squad after being left out of the Sevens side for the Rio Olympics.

    Foster Christian, 54, has been sentenced to 30 years in prison for murdering Natasha Sadler-Ellis and Simon Gorecki in Canterbury in March.

    Officers investigating a reported sexual assault in Gravesend have released a computer generated image of a man they would like to speak with.

    Police say the man boarded a bus and sat next to a woman. While he was sat next to her he is reported to have inappropriately touched her. 

     The man officers would like to speak with is described as being of Asian appearance and approximately 5ft 6ins tall.
