Healthwatch East Riding of Yorkshire is conducting research into carers in the East Riding.

In the coming weeks, HWERY will be out with a questionnaire, the survey is open to all East Riding residents who are an unpaid carer.

People can also fill in a survey online

Hull FC are without stand-off Albert Kelly, who picked up a calf injury in the defeat at St Helens.

Jake Connor deputises for the Black and Whites, who have lost their last two games and are three points behind their opponents.

Leeds are unbeaten in the last seven meetings between the two sides, who face each other again in the semi-finals of the Challenge Cup on Saturday, 29 July.

This evening it will be dry with sunny intervals. Cloud will increase overnight with periods of rain or drizzle on the Pennine hills.

On Saturday it will often be cloudy with outbreaks of rain, occasionally heavy.

Its been described as a groundbreaking appointment.

The Chief Executive of North East Lincolnshire Council, Rob Walsh will also become of the boss of the local Clinical Commissioning Group

CCGs are usually clinically-led NHS bodies, responsible for the planning and commissioning of health care services for their local area.

Mr Walsh says that by bringing the two organisations closer together, this will help improve local health and social care services

The family of Robert McNeill, who was killed during an attack by another patient at Great Oaks Hospital in Scunthorpe, have released a statement.

Jamie Reed, 26, had admitted manslaughter on diminished responsibility, but was found not guilty of murder.

In a statement Robert McNeill's family said they were pleased that Reed would remain detained in either prison or hospital.

The judge who sentenced a drunk hit-and-run driver says he will write to the government to ask them to review the sentencing guidelines.

Owen Finn, 64, was sentenced to three years in jail after he left teenager Kiernan Roberts for dead after knocking him off his bike. Kiernan has been left with life changing injuries.

Judge Jeremy Richardson has call Finn's behaviour 'shameful in the extreme.'

In summing up the judge said he would liked to have given a longer jail sentence, but because of restrictions in the law, it was the harshest he could give.

He will be writing to the government, in the hope that the law could one day be changed.

Owen Finn, aged 64, has been jailed for three years and banned from driving for 11 after he left teenager Kiernan Roberts for dead when he knocked him off his bike with his car.

Finn was over the drink-drive limit.

Kiernan Roberts' sister, Katrina McLane, read out a statement on behalf of the family outside Hull Crown Court following the sentencing.

Staff at a shopping centre spent four hours helping a Leeds family track down their car after they had forgotten where it was parked.

The family, from Leeds, arrived for their daughter's graduation in Hull on Wednesday and parked in a rush.

As reported in the Hull Daily Mail, external, they approached St Stephen's staff Carmen Railton and Ebrima Touray after spending an hour looking for their car.

The vehicle was eventually found at the King William car park.

Scunthorpe United are not expecting to bring any new signings in during their pre-season trip to Austria.

A man accused of murdering a fellow mental health patient has been found not guilty of murder.

Jamie Reed, 26, had admitted manslaughter by diminished responsibility, but denied murder.

Robert McNeill, 60, died at Great Oaks Hospital in Scunthorpe on 16 January.

During the trial, the court heard Mr McNeill was left with multiple injuries to his face, head, back and neck after a "frenzied assault" by Mr Reed.

Hull KR coach Tim Sheens says any move for Leeds captain Danny McGuire would be dependent on promotion to Super League.

Addresses in Alton Road and Belvedere Parade in Bridlington have missed some mail deliveries.

Hundreds of students from across the region have been taking part in an engineering project to build a 'kit-car'.

Project Blyth aims to inspire young people to take up a career in engineering or the sciences.

Around 60 hand built electric kit cars will be raced around the KCOM stadium in Hull this Sunday to mark the end of the project.

Beverley High school has already been practicing.

Hull City goalkeeper David Marshall will miss the start of the new season after suffering ankle ligament damage.

Kiernan was discovered by a passer-by after the incident near Elloughton. He had suffered life-changing injuries which required emergency surgery.

Upon hearing that Owen Finn had been sentenced to three years in jail and banned for driving for 11, Kiernan's family told reporters that their family had been torn apart as they watched their beloved boy fighting for his life.

It's hoped that by talking about the impact it had on their lives, this will help the emergency services reshape how they respond in the future.

More than a third of pupils at South Ferriby School were evacuated from their homes after the 2013 tidal surge.
