  10. Hereford 'mystery man': Police closer to an identificationpublished at 16:40 BST 15 April 2016

    A man found wandering in Hereford, who has so far been only able to give the name Roger Curry, is thought to be 75 years old and from the USA, police say.

    A national and international appeal was launched by police after the man was handed over to the emergency services in November last year.

    Mr Curry is being cared for by Herefordshire Council.

    A 50-year-old man from Taunton, Somerset, was arrested yesterday on suspicion of kidnapping and has since been released on bail, West Mercia Police say.

  12. Hereford mystery man: Police arrest a man on suspicion of kidnappingpublished at 16:11 BST 15 April 2016

    A man has been arrested on suspicion of kidnapping in connection with the case of a "mystery man" found wandering in Hereford last year, police say.

    The "mystery man" (pictured) has only been able to give his name as Roger Curry and is being cared for by Herefordshire Council.

    West Mercia Police says a 50-year-old man from Taunton, Somerset, was arrested yesterday on suspicion of kidnapping.

    He has since been released on police bail, pending further enquiries, until 23 June.

  14. Petition launched by The Sun to free ex-SAS soldier jailed for firearm 'trophy'published at 15:15 BST 15 April 2016

    A campaign has been launched by The Sun newspaper to free a former SAS soldier, external after he was jailed for keeping "war trophies" at his home in Hereford. 

    Albert Patterson, 65, admitted possessing several firearms and ammunition without a certificate.

    So far nearly 450 people have signed the online petition to get his 15-month sentence suspended.

  16. Driver asks nine-year-old girl to get into his vanpublished at 14:38 BST 15 April 2016

    A warning has been issued after a nine-year-old girl was approached by a driver, external who tried to get her into his van.

    The girl was walking on Crown Meadow in Alvechurch between 20:00 and 21:00 on Wednesday when the driver of a white van stopped and asked her for directions, police say.

    He then opened the passenger door and asked her to get in to show him the way.

    The girl declined and ran off - police say she was "not hurt but was understandably shaken".
