    Kidderminster Harriers chief executive Colin Gordon says the National League's bottom club will not progress properly off the field if he becomes head coach on a permanent basis next season.

    The 53-year-old has been in temporary control of the first team since January and is not keen to carry on next term.

    Hereford FC's away game at Alvechurch, postponed yesterday because of a waterlogged pitch, will now be played on Thursday 7 April, with a 19:45 kick off.

    The club says it will offer fans refunds for the original fixture on tickets which are in "a re-saleable condition".

    Emergency calls over the Easter weekend were up by almost a quarter compared to last year, West Midlands Ambulance Service has revealed.

    The service took 1,195 calls in Worcestershire this year, a rise of 23% on the figure of 969 for 2016.

    In Herefordshire there was a slight drop in the number of calls, from 354 to 351.

    There will be no charge to apply for a temporary road closure to hold a street party marking the Queen's 90th birthday, Worcester City Council says.

    The council says people should apply for a street closure, external by 6 May, to allow sufficient time for the application to be processed.

    A big street party is planned on The Mall in London (pictured) on 11 June, the Queen's official birthday.

    A beacon will be lit at Fort Royal Park in Worcester on 21 April to mark the Queen's 90th birthday.

    Beacons are expected to be lit at hundreds of locations across the UK on the same day.
