Officers are appealing for witnesses after a 21-year-old man was assaulted by two or more men in Plymouth, police have told BBC News.
The attack happened at 03:20 on 6 October. It is believed that the man was walking on his own, having left Oceana Nightclub, and was heading towards North Hill.
The victim was taken to Derriford Hospital where he was treated for extensive swelling and bruising to his face.
Freshly painted road markings, external on a Plymouth street have left people scratching their heads due to an obvious misspelling.

RSPCA animal welfare officer Felicity Cross said: “This is an extremely sad incident, one of the gerbils was barely alive and the other was already decomposing.

The RSPCA was called after a man found a gerbil cage dumped with rubbish bins in Newquay.
The two gerbils were inside, one barely alive and the other sadly already dead.

The live gerbil has been taken into RSPCA care where he is being looked after, but staff said it was very skinny and unwell.

A fire in Devon in which a man died is thought to be an accident, police say.
Sources involved in the investigation have told the BBC it’s likely a cigarette was the cause.
The emergency services were called to Coombe Street, Exeter at 17:00 on Sunday.
The body of a 47-year-old man was discovered in a flat at Turnworth Court. His family have been informed.
The police are preparing a file for the coroner.
A Plymouth woman has appeared in court charged with causing the death of two women, external by dangerous driving.
A Cornish MP has suggested that MPs should not have a vote on the government's Brexit negotiating strategy before Article 50 is triggered.
George Eustice, the Conservative MP for Camborne and Redruth, was asked on Daily Politics if parliament would get a vote on the broad parameters of the government's negotiating position in the Brexit talks.
The Minister of State at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs said it was a matter for "the executive".
Mr Eustice, who campaigned for Leave in the EU Referendum, said: "This is a huge negotiation and you have to be clear about where the role for the executive lies.
"My view is that the decision to trigger Article 50 and the negotiations that come thereafter are an issue for the executive. But there will be lots of parliamentary scrutiny leading up to it."

Residents are urged to have their say on the A30 Chiverton to Carland Cross improvement scheme in Cornwall during a series of consultation events this month.

The improvement to the 8.7-mile stretch is part of a £2bn package to turn the A303, A30 and A358 corridor into an expressway to the South West.
Almost 2,500 households in Penryn lost power this morning after a trip on the circuit serving St Thomas Street and Saracen Way.
Western Power Distribution says it restored energy supplies to 1,776 customers by 11:00 - and is working to get the remaining customers back on supply.

A total of 26 Ed's Easy Diner restaurants will close across the UK following a pre-packaged sale of the brand to Giraffe Concepts.
The restaurant in Plymouth Drake Circus is set to close.
Nearly 400 jobs will be cut across Ed's Easy Diner locations.
Rob Croxen, partner at administrator KPMG, said: "Our immediate priority in the coming days will be to liaise with those employees who have been affected by redundancy and ensure that in addition to receiving all back pay owed, they are provided with any assistance they need."
