Nottinghamshire Fire Service has released a statement saying it continues to tackle the fire in Worksop.
Quote MessageThe fire involves a large amount of rubber, hence the thick black smoke that people can see for several miles around. Fortunately the fire is outside of the factory, which makes it easier for us to access, and our crews are working hard to contain it and stop it from spreading. We are working closely with our colleagues from Derbyshire and South Yorkshire fire and rescue services, Nottinghamshire Police, the Environment Agency and Public Health England, not only to fight the fire, but to keep people informed and safe.

Firefighters are starting to get the blaze under control here in Worksop.
It's at a company called MBA Polymers UK which recycles plastics and also metals and started just after lunch.

While we've been here the smoke levels have reduced quite a lot but we've heard the smoke is visible from as far away as Chesterfield and Mansfield.
Obviously they are going to have to wait until the fire is totally out and make sure the building is safe before investigators can see what's happened.

Bakewell's Newholme Hospital will be closed following a one-year consultation, BBC Radio Derby understands.
Image source, GoogleA press release from the NHS confirmed a meeting on Monday at 19:00, but front line staff have filled in the gaps for us.
They were called to an all staff meeting earlier this morning where they were told by bosses that they intend to proceed with the closure.
We also expect Oker Ward at Whitworth Hospital in Darley Dale to close.
The clinical commissioning groups behind this move argue that this will help treat patients in the community, rather than at these smaller hospitals that are outdated and costly to run.

More than 150 cases of children being left at home alone were referred to the police and social services in Nottinghamshire by the NSPCC in the last two years.
The children's charity is now urging parents and carers to think twice as school summer holidays approach.

Although the law doesn't say what age you can leave your child on their own, it is illegal to put them at risk.
The charity said it acknowledged that parents often had difficult choices to make when it comes to childcare, but it has produced an online guide offering advice.

Enforcement officers are being brought in from Nottingham to help Derby get on top of the problem of flytipping in the city.

Derby City Council decided to implement these measures after just two fines were issued for the offence last year, despite there being 5,000 reported incidents of flytipping.
Councillor Asaf Afzal, the cabinet member for neighbourhoods, said: "We've tried to engage with communities, we've tried to get the evidence, but now it has got to the point where we need proper enforcement.
"Although it is not just about enforcement, it is also about saying we don't want litter here...flytipping it is not acceptable."
