    Tiles at Derbyshire Dales District Council's Arc Leisure Centre's teaching pool will need to be replaced - less than five years since it opened.

    The council said it was "a serious issue" that affects all the tiles on the pool floor.

    A 19-year-old student was robbed at knifepoint in the Five Lamps area of the city on Monday, police have said.

    At about 22:30 the 19 year old was approached by two men wearing balaclavas, who threatened him with a knife.

    He was pushed against a wall before the offenders demanded he hand over his wallet and iPhone. 

    One was wearing a big white padded jacket and the other wore a black jacket.

    Police have released CCTV images, external after a man was attacked in Long Eaton.

    At 20:20 on Wednesday 6 April the 27 year old was walking along College Street towards Canal Street when he was approached by a man who swore at him, pushed him and grabbed him by the throat.

  7. A52 improvements: What are they?published at 17:13 BST 14 April 2016

    This is how the city council wants to improve the A52 and the Wyvern:

    • Extra lanes and a 50mph speed limit on the A52, near the Wyvern junctions
    • Carriageway resurfacing and replacement safety barriers
    • A new two lane slip road off the A52 into Wyvern/Pride Park
    • A new signal controlled crossroads at the junction of Wyvern Way and Derwent Parade
    • New "shared use" routes for pedestrians and cyclists and new crossing facilities
    • A replacement wider pedestrian and cycle bridge across the A52 to the Wyvern

    For the fourth month in a row passenger numbers have increased at East Midlands Airport. 

    281,450 passengers used the airport in March - an increase of 9% compared with the same period last year. 

    Their best ever day was Easter Monday.

  10. Burton robberies: Total of five arrestspublished at 16:23 BST 14 April 2016

    In addition to the four men arrested today, last night a 57-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery.

    Police have yet to establish whether the firearm used in both incidents was real.

    Armed response police officers have been on Burton's streets today after a spate of robberies.

    The first robbery happened on Tuesday night when three men entered Tesco Express in Stanton Road (pictured).

    Yesterday, a Post Office in Draycott-in-the-Clay was targeted by three men, again with a suspected firearm. 

    This lunchtime, armed officers were deployed to arrest four people in the Horninglow area.

    A Nottingham Forest spokesman says they've now paid a £90k bill to Derby County for ticket sales from last month's away match at the iPro.

    It was revealed the amount was still outstanding after the Rams made a complaint to the Football League.

  15. Man jailed for nuisance 999 callspublished at 14:45 BST 14 April 2016

    East Midlands Ambulance Service has told us a man from Derby was jailed earlier this month for 24 weeks after "repeatedly" calling 999.

    Alan Bennett, 49, also called staff names before walking away from the phone and leaving the line open, preventing other people using the service.

    Derbyshire Police and EMAS carried out a joint prosecution against Bennett due to the high number of calls he made to both services.

    A green John Deere tractor and a single axle Welger RP235 hay-baler were stolen from Darley Moor Race Track on Tuesday, police have said., external

    The theft happened sometime between 21:00 and 23:20 at the site near Ashbourne.

    It is believed thieves used a mini digger that was on site to lift the main gates and make off with the vehicles.
