    Sally-Ann Watson said: "Absolutely fantastic panto, the best for a long time, but agree when we went it was empty and told only about 600 tickets sold for that particular performance."

    Scott Gillett said: "We went Saturday, loads of seats but it was fantastic. Great venue and we were 3 from the front with a little one and still good."

  5. Ashbourne car park to be resurfacedpublished at 17:15

    A heads up about improvement work at Shawcroft Car Park in Ashbourne..

    Resurfacing work starts this week and is expected to take around 11 weeks.

    It'll create more than 40 extra parking spaces, raised planters will be removed and ticket machines repositioned. 

    Parts of the car park will stay open during the work.

    BBC Radio Derby has been talking to Steve Docherty from Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service about why firefighters are back at the scene of a canoeing accident that happened yesterday.

    He explained they were there to remove the canoe, saying: "We've put one of the water rescue firefighters in a harness on the crane, lowered him down into the water and in a prolonged operation we managed to get a strap onto the canoe and using the crane lift it out of the water."

    The vet managed to contact Hannah about Ginny from the details on her microchip.

    Hannah says this highlights how important it is to get your dog chipped.

    Ginny had a collar on when she was found and Hannah says it looked like she had been well looked after by another family who didn't know she had been stolen.

    Ginny's owner, Hannah Denton, went to Doncaster on New Year's Day to pick up her dog.

    Hannah said: "I was just about to walk my other two border terriers, and I received a call from my sister in absolute hysterics telling me Ginny had been found and she was okay.

    "I just broke down."

    A dog that was stolen in Burton almost a year ago has been found and reunited with its family.

    Ginny the border terrier was found wandering the streets in Doncaster.

    It's after a canoeing accident yesterday where a man became trapped under a bridge on the River Derwent near Crown Square and was dragged underwater by strong currents.

    He was airlifted to hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

    He hadn’t started a game since November for Albion but will be remembered for scoring a memorable last-gasp winner at Chesterfield on September 26.

  12. Man charged over petrol station raidpublished at 14:24

    In other news, police have charged 37-year-old man, external in connection with an alleged robbery at a filling station in Derby.

    It happened at the Texaco garage in Traffic Street just after midnight on Saturday.

    A man was reported to have walked in and demanded cash. A member of staff was also injured.

    A 28-year-old man has also been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery and released on bail.

    There's more rain forecast for this evening and several flood alerts are in place across Derbyshire and East Staffordshire.

    • River Derwent and tributaries from Rowsley to the River Trent at Shardlow
    • River Wye and tributaries from Burbage to the River Derwent at Rowsley
    • River Trent and tributaries in Derbyshire from Newton Solney to Castle Donington
