Candidates have been announced for the election of the West Midlands Police and Crime Commissioner.
In alphabetical order they are:
Pete Durnell – UKIP
Andy Flynn – Independent
David Jamieson – Labour
Les Jones – Conservative
The election takes place on Thursday 5 May with more details available on the PCC website, external.
Network Rail says the cost to the industry of this morning's disruption will run into hundreds of thousands, external of pounds.
They say early indications are that "foul play" caused signalling failure and released pictures showing apparent attempts to burn and cut cables powering signals at Proof House junction, south of New Street station.
They're appealing for the public to come forward with any information.

The mother of murdered Coventry teenager Daniel Kirkwood says she's "destroyed" and "broken" by his death.
Tobijah Thompson, 25, was convicted of his murder last month and was today jailed for life.

The area around Coton Road in Rugby is currently cordoned-off after a man in his sixties was stabbed in the leg and groin., external
He's been airlifted to hospital and police say his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
A 62-year-old man has been arrested and remains in custody.
The University of Warwick says it will be looking into whether student and Luton Labour councillor, Aysegul Gurbuz, breached its policies over anti-Semitic comments on her Twitter account.

A spokesman for the University says they "certainly wish to talk with this student when she returns to campus at the start of term".
The Labour Party suspended Ms Gurbuz pending an investigation, but she has resigned.

An eyewitness to scenes in Broadgate this afternoon has described seeing a man kneeling down on the pavement in handcuffs "all covered in blood".
Police say a man was detained under the Mental Health Act following reports of a "person carrying a bladed article".
West Midlands Ambulance Service says it was called shortly after midday and one man was taken to University Hospital.

Jaguar Land Rover design chief Gerry McGovern is to be awarded an honorary doctorate of arts by Coventry University at the city's cathedral on Wednesday.
Professor Seymour Roworth-Stokes said the Coventry-born designer, behind models including Range Rover Evoque and MGF sports car, had "played a significant role" in the firm's success.

Mr McGovern, who studied industrial design at the former polytechnic in the 1970s, said: "It gives me a great sense of pride to be recognised by the city where I was brought up, and my parents would have been very proud.”
A student from Stratford is among four men cleared of rape at a university's summer ball after the case against them was dropped.
It was alleged they had attacked a woman, 20, after an end of term party at the Royal Agricultural University in Gloucestershire, in 2014.
Lee Mahon, 22 (pictured third from left), had denied the charges against him, as had the other three men.

An inquiry into the way Coventry City Council handled the Wisteria Lodge abuse case will be held by the city's Safeguarding Children Board.
A meeting today confirmed the probe after two former care workers were jailed for abusing children at the site.
Chair of the Safeguarding Children Board, Janet Mokades, said it's possible for such bodies to "drag all of this out into the light of day in a way that means you can ensure that it's not happening now and won't happen in the future".

There is still disruption on the rail networks around Coventry and Warwickshire after signal failure caused hours of delays at Birmingham New Street this morning.
A man's been detained under the Mental Health Act following reports of someone carrying a sword in Broadgate in Coventry city centre.
West Midlands Police say a man in his 30s has been detained and is being treated for minor injuries.

Here's more on our story that Tobijah Thompson (pictured top left) has today been jailed for 32 years for Daniel Kirkwood's murder:
Three other men - Hasham Ali, 19, Ezra Scott, 22, and Ramez Murtaza, 21 - also received custodial sentences after pleading guilty to violent disorder over the fight which resulted in the teenager's death.
Murtaza was sentenced to eight years in total for manslaughter and violent disorder.
Scott received 28 months in prison, half to be spent in custody.
Ali was sentenced to 29 months in a young offenders institution.

A 25-year-old man has been sentenced to a minimum of 32 years in prison after being found guilty of the murder of Coventry teenager Daniel Kirkwood.
Tobijah Thompson was found guilty at Warwick Crown Court last month.
