    Cambridgeshire-based Papworth Trust has given a sneak preview of the "acoustic garden" it is showing at the Chelsea Flower Show, external next week.

    The disability charity's "Together We Can, external" garden is designed to be enjoyed aurally as well as visually.

    World famous solo percussionist Dame Evelyn Glennie (pictured) will be "playing" the garden on the last day of the show on 28 May.

    Two men have been arrested following a "serious assault" behind Parkside Pool in Cambridge last night.

    Police say two men, aged 38 and 50, both of no fixed address, were arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.

    A 49-year-old remains in Addenbrooke's Hospital with serious, but not life threatening, head injuries.

    This is the scene in Sharnbrook where police are searching a construction site, following the discovery of a severed head at a quarry at Mepal.

    A nearby resident has told our reporter he thinks searches are being focussed on an area where there was a recent delivery of aggregate.

    Cambridgeshire Police say nothing new has been found at the Sharnbrook site police are currently searching off Mill Road.

    Police believe a human head found in a quarry in Cambridgeshire originally came from Sharnbrook.

    A force spokeswoman says they are not expecting any further updates this afternoon, but we'll keep you updated with any further developments. Police are remaining on site overnight.

    It may look like doing a giant jigsaw puzzle - but Cambridge conservators turned to science in their decade long restoration of a damaged Renaissance painting.

    The Adoration of the Shepherds by 16th Century Italian artist Sebastiano del Piombo was removed from a wooden panel with acid in the 1700s and then painted over.

    Experts based at the Fitzwilliam Museum examined fragments of original paint smaller than a pinhead under a microscope, and compared them to a copy held by the Louvre in Paris, to complete the repair work.

    What we know so far:

    • A human head was found at 15:00 yesterday at a Mick George quarry, off Block Fen Drove in Mepal in the Fens
    • Police are currently treating the case as "suspicious" and are also searching a construction site in Sharnbrook, Bedfordshire
    • The head was recovered from the Mepal site this morning

    Police are still on site at the quarry at Mepal where a Mick George employee discovered a severed human head, but reporters are being kept well back from the cordon.

    Block Fen Drove in Mepal is situated in a remote part of the Cambridgeshire Fens, close to the River Delph, and the new Bedford River.

    It is about 10 miles (16km) from Ely and 4 miles (6.4km) form Chatteris.

    As well as active quarrying operations in the area, there are a numerous old workings which have flooded and are used for leisure activities.
