The historic Leeds Bridge is set to get a lick of paint and undergo strengthening from next week, but as a result of the work, traffic heading towards the city centre will be restricted.

The work is expected to take 16 months to complete and only the park-and-ride bus service will be able to use the bridge heading into the city centre, according to Leeds City Council.
Leeds Bridge was finished in 1873 and was the setting for the first ever recorded moving film footage, shot by Louis Le Prince in 1888.
Police have issued an e-fit image of a man they want to speak to after a man was left with slashed hands in a Leeds carjacking.

A man came up to the car, opened the door and pulled him out and the victim was left with wounds on his hands which needed hospital treatment.
The man drove off in the car which was later found burned-out behind Ley Lane.
Police are appealing for help in finding a Bradford teenager who's been missing since Tuesday.

West Yorkshire Police say they think she's still in Bradford and anyone with information about her whereabouts is being asked to contact the force.

League One side Bradford City have extended Newcastle United winger Alex Gilliead's loan deal until the end of the season.

Non-urgent treatments had already been cancelled until mid-January, but NHS England said on Tuesday that would now be extended to the end of the month.
In a statement, the RCN says: "Over 90% of beds [are] being used by many hospitals - well above the 85% safe limit recommended by experts.
"Nursing staff are struggling to hold the NHS together and the situation continues to get worse with increasing demand from an ageing population and a severe nursing recruitment and retention problem."
A woman has been repeatedly punched and robbed in an attack in Doncaster.

The man grabbed her and then punched her several times and then the couple took the woman’s earrings and her mobile phone and left.
Police say they're looking for a white man in his mid-20s, about 5ft 9ins tall, wearing a dark cap and a camouflage jacket.
Officers say they don't currently have a description of the woman.

Police have issued a description of a man they're trying to find after a woman in her 60s was seriously sexually assaulted and robbed in York.

They were first seen on Lendal Bridge and walked out of town before eventually reaching the back of St Peter's School. Once there, the man attacked the woman and stole money from her.
Officers say they're looking for a man around 5ft 9ins tall, thin, with dark hair and a dark, olive complexion.
He possibly had a well-groomed beard and was wearing a dark baseball cap, with dark clothing and jeans.
Anyone with information about the incident is being asked to contact police.

A man has been jailed for more than two years after he was trapped by a Leeds-based group that targets online paedophiles.
Image source, West Yorkshire PoliceRichard Myers, 44, of Manningham Lane, Bradford, spent months sexually grooming what he thought was a 13-year-old girl.
He was confronted by members of Predator Exposure in October.
Bradford Crown Court heard a fake social media profile that included the girl's age had been set up by a member of the group.
Myers was jailed for 32 months, has to register with the police as a sex offender and will also be banned from contacting girls under 16.
Rotherham and Wakefield are the fastest growing economies in Yorkshire, according to a new report.
Image source, PAThe UK Powerhouse study, external estimates the Growth Value Added (GVA) increase and job creation within 45 of the UK’s largest cities 12 months ahead of the government’s official figures.
The report, by Irwin Mitchell and the Centre for Economics and Business Research, reveals Rotherham's GVA was 1.8% in the third quarter of 2017, making it the UK's eighth fastest growing city economy.
It was joined in the top 10 with Wakefield, which saw a GVA of 1.7% across the same period, the report finds.

Have you seen 65-year-old Daniel Coggan? He's been missing from his home in York since yesterday afternoon and police are concerned for his welfare.

A man has admitted sending a series of offensive and menacing messages to the social worker who first revealed the child sex abuse scandal in Rotherham.
Image source, PAFaisal Khan, 23, sent Jayne Senior (pictured) messages filled with racist and abusive terms, including one in which he told her to "jump off a bridge".
Mrs Senior helped reveal the systematic grooming and sexual exploitation of more than 1,400 children in Rotherham between 1997 and 2013. In 2016 she was made an MBE for her services to child protection.
Sheffield Magistrates' Court heard Khan, of Main Street, Bramley, in Rotherham, sent 28 messages to Mrs Senior between 3 and 25 June last year.
He is due to be sentenced on 26 January.
