  3. Sandbach students 'inspired' by interviewspublished at 19:57 GMT 10 March 2016

    Sandbach High School, external students from Cheshire visited Wembley Arena for their School Report project.

    They listened to a speech by Sohana, who suffers from a rare skin condition making her very sensitive to any contact. The reporters said they were really inspired after listening to her about the importance of family and staying strong.

    They also tackled the topic of whether the UK is gender equal. 

  4. Plymouth weather makes the newspublished at 19:55 GMT 10 March 2016

    School Reporters from Sir John Hunt Community Sports College, external in Plymouth covered several stories today, such as the asteroid that recently passed by Earth.

    They also looked at the extreme weather the city has experienced, which damaged the big screen in Plymouth’s city centre.

    Other stories covered were on a young student who has been given a scholarship by Arsenal and the progress of Plymouth's new skate park.

  6. School Reporters learn the ropes from the professionalspublished at 19:49 GMT 10 March 2016

    It has been an epic day of reporting and pupils from schools around the country have been visiting BBC newsrooms across the UK, meeting presenters, journalists and producers who work there.

  7. School report shout outs!published at 19:48 GMT 10 March 2016

    It's been a busy day for the many schools in the West Midlands and Warwickshire. Here's what some have been up to:

    At the Corbet School Technology College in Shropshire pupils talked about CRY (cardiac risk in the young) and interviewed members of staff about the subject of the playground game tag being banned.

    The captain of Worcester City Football Club, Danny Jackman, was interviewed by school reporters at Christopher Whitehead Language College who asked him about the difficulties of relocating the football stadium back into the city.

    School Reporters at Warwick School , externalworked hard filming a whole news programme with stories on the doctor’s strike, floods in the local area and the school’s play Gargantua.

    Sir Graham Balfour High School, external reported on a large local fire, the death of Sir George Martin and the appointment of a new deputy head.

    School reporters at St Margaret Ward Catholic Academy, external had an exciting day working on a diverse range of stories from politics to social media.

    Twelve students reporters from Myton School, external “had a great time” working on stories including random acts of kindness and women in the workplace.

    School Reporters at Charles Darwin School , externalin Bromley reported on a range of issues from the EU referendum to the junior doctors' strike and from a new project at their school giving pupils access to brand new instrument to a new cinema opening in Orpington.

    As roving reporters get ready for School Report's pop-up radio in Birmingham, Niall,12, from Cardinal Newman School, external in Coventry was reporting about what was going on in the BBC Birmingham Radio Studios.

  10. Zika virus reported on by Harrow studentspublished at 19:30 GMT 10 March 2016

    Rooks Heath College, external in Harrow saw 200 students - the whole of Year 8 - produce reports on Sport Relief, top tips for staying safe online, a review of the Shakespeare play Twelfth Night and the effects of the Zika virus.

  11. Is sport just for boys?published at 19:26 GMT 10 March 2016

    School Reporters at St Alban’s Girls School, external have written a piece entitled “Is sport just for boys?” 

    They interviewed teachers, who have all competed at high levels in sport, as well as students who compete for the UK.

    Their report said that while many people still have old-fashioned opinions regarding girls in sport, a culture of innovation is helping to get rid of negative stereotypes.

  12. Has Tim 'peaked' interest in science?published at 19:22 GMT 10 March 2016

    School Reporters from Edinburgh Academy, external visited the Glasgow Science Centre, to investigate whether astronaut Tim Peake's space mission has led to more people taking an interest in science.

    They found out what questions the public asks about space and discovered what the centre is doing to mark Tim Peake's achievements.

  13. Lancashire students cover MP storypublished at 19:19 GMT 10 March 2016

    Bedford High School pupils

    Bedford High School, external based in Leigh, Lancashire, had students working on three different stories today. 

    One was the tale of a Year 11 student who had the opportunity to shadow Labour MP Andy Burnham. 

    Another story was about regenerating a local mill which was last used in the 1970s and another was about a careers fair held last week.

  14. Wrexham pupils report on all creatures great and smallpublished at 19:15 GMT 10 March 2016

    The pupils at St Christopher's School, external, a special school in Wrexham, created reports about their small animal care centre - something they are very proud of.

    They also covered a range of other stories about video games, Fairtrade fortnight and interpreting British Sign Language.

    Shout out to the pupils at Great Yarmouth High School who produced a report about black music icons throughout history and their impact on society as well as stories about every day sexism.

    Meanwhile, school reporters from Malet Lambert School , externalin Hull, St Lawrence Academy, external in Scunthorpe and Sirius Academy North, external in Hull prepared questions for their interview with BBC director of radio Helen Boaden.

    Pupils from Castleford Academy, external in Wakefield have reported on stories like the school's Year 7 music competition and conducted an interview with deaf students, to find out how they get on with school life. 

  20. Surbiton students interview holocaust survivorpublished at 18:51 GMT 10 March 2016

    Girls from Tolworth Girls School, external in Surrey got the chance to interview Rudi Oppenheimer, a holocaust survivor, for their school report.

    The pupils said they felt "really lucky and privileged" to be able to meet him and carry out the exclusive interview.
