UAE hosts trilateral talks as Trump says Zelensky and Putin 'want a deal'published at 12:32 GMT 23 January
Russian, Ukrainian and American negotiators are attending the first trilateral talks in Abu Dhabi, designed to bring an end to the Ukraine war.

- Territory remains the key sticking point of negotiations - particularly around the eastern Donbas region - but Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky says he has now agreed on security guarantees with the US
- Zelensky has described the Abu Dhabi talks, scheduled for two days, as "a step - hopefully towards ending the war - but different things can happen"
- After a meet with Zelensky in Davos yesterday, US President Donald Trump is insistent that both the Ukrainian and Russian leaders "want to make a deal" - our correspondent in Kyiv says it's time to see if Moscow is really serious about peace
