US singer D4vd, legal name David Anthony Burke, has been charged with murder of 14-year-old girl Celeste Rivas Hernandez. Los Angeles investigators gave an update on the details of the case, here's what we heard:
- D4vd will face three charges in the investigation into the murder of Celeste Rivas Hernandez. These include first degree murder, murder for financial gain, and murdering a witness to an investigation.
- The charges involve numerous sexual acts with a minor, and the mutilation of a body, says LA District Attorney Nathan Hochman.
- Prosecutors will present evidence that Rivas was a witness into an investigation against Burke, for sexual acts committed when she was under 14 years old, Hochman said.
- Rivas Hernandez went to Burke’s house on 23 April 2025 and was never seen again, according to the DA.
- Police chief Jim McDonnell addressed criticism of how the case has been handled saying “My duty is not to fuel speculation, it’s to deliver justice.”
- If found guilty, the singer could face life without parole or the death penalty.
