Outside Ascot station, Matt Myers took a picture of an uprooted tree which caved in the roof of a car.

"It was a beautiful tree" Lorna May told the BBC after sending in her photo of a partly obstructed towpath in Putney, London.

There were many delays on the commute to work, as seen by this picture sent in by Adam Uren, in North London

When Olga Sumner went to work in her bank, she was surprised to see how close a tree had come to the Cobham branch.

Early in the day a lorry overturned in the high winds on the M11, near Harlow. Trevor Ford, who took the photo, said thankfully the driver appeared to be unhurt and no other vehicles were involved

A flat at the Shah Jahan Mosque in Woking was damaged in the storm. Aisha Atique, who sent in this photo, told the BBC the tree was very old.
