US midterm elections results 2026

Polls are closing and results are coming in across the US in the midterm elections.

All 435 members of the House of Representatives are up for election along with 35 of 100 seats in the Senate and some state-level politicians, including governors.

The outcome of the midterms will decide which political party - Trump's Republicans or the opposition Democrats - controls Congress and how easy it is for the president to carry out his plans.

State results

These tables show when results are expected to start coming in for key Senate and House races during election night. As polls close and votes are counted in each state, they will show the leading candidate and an estimate of how much of the expected vote has been counted so far.
