What's popular and why

Thousands of people have been making themselves look "unattractive" and then revealing "flawless beauty" in videos on social media.

It's part of a trend called the #DontJudgeChallenge which appears to have been started as a statement against body shaming and a riposte to conventional standards of beauty.

However there has been a backlash online. Critics claim the use of make-up to create fake acne, uni-brows and stained teeth is judgemental in itself.
