John Kerry thanks Egypt for support in fight against IS
US Secretary of State John Kerry is visiting Egypt as Washington seeks to bolster its long-time ally in the face of the rising threat from the so-called Islamic State group, or Daesh.
Mr Kerry paid tribute to Cairo's role in combating extremists but also warned that a state that neglected human rights risked alienating young people and driving them into the arms of the militants.
