Same-sex marriage ban referendum in Croatia

Croatian voters have backed proposals to ban same-sex marriages.

Two-thirds of those who voted in a referendum approved changes to Croatia's constitution to define marriage as a union between a man and a woman.

Sanja Juras, Coordinator for the Lesbian Group in Croatia told BBC News "the government never had the intention of allowing same-sex marriages in Croatia".
