Hungary emergency toxic sludge dam nears completion

Six days after a flood of leaking toxic red mud, clean up efforts are still continuing in western Hungary. Eight people have so far died from the 4 October spill near Ajka.

About 150 people were also injured after up to 700,000 cubic metres (24.7m cu ft) of toxic by-product from the production of alumina burst from a storage reservoir.

There are also fears that a second wave of sludge could strike the area. The BBC's Duncan Kennedy reports on the race to finish an emergency dam to contain the expected second spill.
