The Japanese bagpiper confounding expectations in Tokyo

For many, the sound of bagpipes might conjure up images of kilts, spectacular windswept mountains, or Scottish street parades.

It does not typically bring to mind Japan, or its neon-lit, ultra-modern capital, Tokyo.

But after a holiday in Scotland, Shinji Hamada decided to take up the pipes - complete with kilt, sporran and all - and confound expectations wherever he went.
