First UK TV ad to warn of child exploitation

The first TV campaign in the UK focused on child sexual exploitation has been launched.

A new advert and website shows how conversations online can potentially lead to a young person being in danger, external and highlights how to spot the warning signs.

New research has shown that 93% of parents have heard of child sexual exploitation but 29% say they know little about it while over a third believe it will not affect their family.

Child sexual exploitation is defined as a young person under the age of 18 being manipulated, forced, pressurised or coerced into taking part in a sexual act.
