Police raid Spanish home of suspected major drug trafficker Robert Dawes

Dramatic footage showing a police raid on the home of a suspected major drug trafficker from Britain has been released by Spanish police.

Robert Dawes, originally from Sutton-in-Ashfield in Nottinghamshire, is being held by French authorities on suspicion of trafficking over a tonne of cocaine, worth €200m (£145m).

The drugs were found in suitcases on a flight from Venezuela to Paris, the Guardia Civil said.

The 44-year-old is accused of running Europe's "largest criminal organisation dedicated to drug trafficking, money laundering and murder", the authority said., external
