Action pledge over dementia sufferer left overnight on bus

Luton Borough Council's chief executive has described an incident in which a woman with dementia was left overnight on a bus as "absolutely shocking".

Trevor Holden has ordered an immediate inquiry into why the woman, thought to be in her 80s, was apparently forgotten and left on a minibus for more than 14 hours.

She was being transported from a day centre to her care home in Luton on Monday night and was not discovered until the following morning.
