Abduction teacher Jeremy Forrest 'sorry for his actions'
A teacher who has been jailed for abducting and having sex with a 15-year-old pupil he ran off with to France is "sorry for his actions", his family has said.
In a statement read by solicitor Henrietta Ronson on behalf of Jeremy Forrest's family, his parents said there were a number of factors which needed to be examined, including "the failure to properly act on early warnings."
Forrest, 30, was sentenced to five-and-a-half years in prison at Lewes Crown Court on Friday.
