Cowboy builders net £1m by targeting pensioners

Six builders have admitted carrying out a fraudulent cold-calling scam which cheated hundreds of elderly people out of more than £1m.

Over a period of five years the group conned victims across the Midlands into paying for sub-standard work they did not need.
