North Sea island hit by 5m tsunami
A prehistoric "Atlantis" in the North Sea may have been abandoned by people after being hit by a 5m tsunami 8,000 years ago.
The wave was generated by a subsea landslide off the coast of Norway. New modelling suggests the island referred to as Doggerland that existed back then would have been completely over-run.
Dr Jon Hill from Imperial College London told our correspondent Jonathan Amos that water levels in the North Sea were much lower than they are now.
