BBC's Alan Yentob: 'We didn't get it right' in Miriam O'Reilly case

The Creative Director for the BBC, Alan Yentob, has said the corporation would like to talk to former BBC Countryfile presenter Miriam O'Reilly about further opportunities for employment.

Mr Yentob admitted the BBC ''didn't get it right'' and would like to apologise to Ms O'Reilly, who has won her employment tribunal against the broadcaster on the grounds of ageism.

The 53-year-old claimed she had been unfairly dropped from the rural affairs show when it moved to a prime time Sunday evening slot in April 2009.
