It will have you humming for days on end.

We've all been eagerly anticipating the soundtrack of Hashar, a love story, directed by Gaurav Trehan and the Punjabi flick of 2008. The movie focuses on true romance, passion and conflict: something which is reflected on each track on the album. This eight-track musical delight features an eclectic mix of music composed and written by the Punjabi legend, Babbu Maan. Maan has worked his magic by conjuring up some real gems, and adding real weight production-wise.
The intoxicating vocals work particularly well in engaging listeners and, more importantly, give each song a burst of energy. Layered with strong rhythms and beautifully crafted melodies, this album is one that could be listened to almost anywhere; be it in the car, on your iPod or in the home. And its wider appeal is aided by the diversity of the songs in mood and style, making it an all-round good listen.
This feel-good party album is cemented together by the consistent production job by Harjinder Garcha and Lucky Dhindsa. In amongst the more soppy numbers like Thandi Thandi and Hashar are great catchy tunes such as Bhangra de Paun and Nachna Main Nachna which are sure to tear apart a party dance floor.
Hashar offers a delectable feast of musical surprises, something to appease everyone and well worth investigating, especially if you are a Babbu Maan fan. The sumptuous vocals, great arrangements, imaginative instrumentation and upbeat tempo give the album a refreshing edge, that which will have you humming for days on end.
