This compilation will throw you from one legendary scene to another without warning...

Imagine going back to your twenties, putting on those sleek white pants and those bordering-on-slimy sunglasses to once again impersonate the coolest of the cool. Yes you've guessed it, the man himself : Don Johnson. If you enjoy this idea then you will regard this as a truly mind-blowing compilation; a veritable time capsule which, for a Miami Vice fan or, in fact, any box office lover, is a must-have.

Of course, Michael Mann’s career is a little more varied than this. His films range from historical reproductions such as The Last Of The Mohicans to recent action movies such as Collateral and Heat. With royal casts featuring the likes of Al Pacino and Robert De Niro, he lately also produced the Aviator directed by Martin Scorsese – a man who also is a pretty good hand at compiling killer soundtracks.

This double CD lines up Iron Butterfly, Nina Simone, Manzanita, Clannad, Lisa Gerrard, House of Pain, Moby, Brian Eno, Miles Davis, Salif Keita, Aretha Franklin and Jan Hammer (literally hammering on that synthesiser as if it were the most sacred invention of mankind) – uneasy bedfellows, for sure, but all featured in peak form. This compilation will throw you from one legendary scene to another without warning, but then this man has been making movies for over 30 years. So relax and indulge in a little main character nostalgia, a little heroic moral dilemma, a little calm before the battle, the guns…the explosions. Music From The Films Of… will again take you through that scene in your mind’s cinema when you killed that baddie or took home that nightingale on a dark blue street... all accompanied by bright pink flashlights and a warm breeze. Don’t hold back…
