India Arie was born in Colorado, 1975. A singer songwriter, producer and musician, her 2001 debut offering Acoustic Soul broke the mould for female R&B singers at the time. It’s a piece that blurs the boundaries of the genre and as a result found a diverse audience base from Hip-Hop to Folk fans.
It's an album of simple beauty from a singer with a sublime vocal talent. Acoustic Soul was nominated for SEVEN Grammy awards but sadly received none… It is however an impressive collection of works and remains her most popular album.
