The Responder

Chris Carson (Martin Freeman) reaches rock bottom when he wakes up cold and disorientated in his car. But a conversation with his mum (Rita Tushingham) makes him realise he needs to fight for Kate.

He thinks things may be all right, but then Carl Sweeney’s (Ian Hart) wife Jodie turns up at the police station, and she wants money in return for staying quiet.

Rachel's (Adelayo Adedayo) boyfriend has locked her out of her flat; and after Mullen (Warren Brown) tells her he hasn’t acted on the burner-phone information she gave him, Rachel starts to wonder if he’s all he says he is.

With Marco (Josh Finan) and her grandad, Casey (Emily Fairn) looks for a suitable buyer for the drugs, but the motley trio doesn’t impress the buyer, and long-running tensions with her grandad come to the surface.

Chris’s worst nightmare is also coming true when he and Rachel are called out to a burning car; when he discovers that he knows the body inside, Rachel tells the investigating officer that Chris is friends with a known drug dealer.
