UKG Rewind With Craig David

The story of Craig David and UK garage’s rise to chart domination at the turn of the new millennium.

Craig David plays back to back UK garage classics and charts the rise of the genre from an underground club scene in the 1990s to a chart dominating pop movement at the turn of the century. He also tells the story of his parallel musical journey, from playing Southampton nightclubs on school nights, to recording Re-Rewind, performing on Top Of The Pops and becoming a fully-fledged pop star.

Craig also meets up with veteran garage producer Sunship to find out how his remixes catapulted the likes of Sweet Female Attitude, Mis-Teeq, Victoria Beckham and Craig David himself up the charts.

Episode one covers music from Crystal Waters, Shanks & Bigfoot, Roy Davis Jr and of course Artful Dodger. Craig explains how he got into the Southampton music scene and began recording tracks with Artful Dodger. Plus find out how his chart battle with Cliff Richard went down, and what Craig did on Millennium Eve!
