The First Time with Karen O

Matt talks to the Yeah Yeah Yeah's frontwoman about the music and events that have shaped her life, including the band's raucous early live appearances, her movie soundtrack work and the story behind their timeless breakthrough single, Maps.
Since her career began Karen O has become considered to be one of the most diverse and transformative artists in music. In many ways she has inspired a generation and played an integral part in what is commonly regarded as a revival era in rock.
She has worked with musicians The Flaming Lips, Santigold, Trent Reznor, David Lynch and The Swans, and has also worked on the scores to some critically-acclaimed films.
