The Lives Of Harry Lime
Ep. 1/5 -

Orson Welles returns to Radio 4 Extra as Harry Lime with five more stories never before broadcast on the BBC.
Created by Graham Greene for the 1949 film noir The Third Man, the racketeer’s radio exploits originally appeared on BBC in a series called The Adventures Of Harry Lime. The Lives Of Harry Lime will feature five episodes never heard before on BBC Radio.
The radio adventures were penned by a variety of writers, including Welles himself. They paint the picture of the run-up to Lime’s ultimate tenure as a black-marketeer in penicillin in post-war Vienna.
In the first adventure, Pearls Of Bohemia, dancer Melody Johnson hires Harry to promote her career as a beauty queen. After kissing her, Harry becomes suspicious of her real motives.
The other four stories in this run are A Night In A Harem, The Professor Regrets, The Hard Way and Honeymoon.
