Great North Run

Gabby Logan presents live coverage of the 2018 Great North Run, the world’s biggest half-marathon.

Global superstars of distance running and wheelchair racing go head to head, including four-time Olympic champion Sir Mo Farah, who defends his 2017 title, and also has an unprecedented fifth consecutive victory in his sights. In the women’s competition, 2016 champion Vivian Cheruiyot heads the pack. And in the wheelchair race, legend David Weir is favourite to add another winner’s medal to his impressive collection.

But it’s not just the world’s elite taking to the streets. Around 57,000 entries have signed up to raise money and awareness for many good causes, some of which we’ll hear about in the programme.
