Book Of The Week: The Freedom Papers

Radio 4 presents The Freedom Papers in collaboration with Edinburgh International Book Festival. Across the week, five writers reflect on a modern definition of freedom.

At a pivotal point in modern history, in terms of political uncertainty and challenges to social justice, Edinburgh's International Book Festival commissioned 52 writers to explore ideas related to freedom.

This one-off Book Of The Week showcases five very different perspectives on freedom from some of the world's most exciting literary voices, including Yan Lianke, Sandip Roy, Nicola Davies, Carmen Maria Machado, Gavin Francis and Esa Aldegheri.
