Paperback Writers with David Sedaris

The new series of Paperback Writers kicks off with American humourist and writer, David Sedaris.

He’ll be picking an hour of his favourite records and telling the stories behind the music.

Sedaris’s work has been translated into 25 languages and there are over ten million copies of his books in print. He is the author of Barrel Fever and Holidays On Ice, as well as collections of personal essays including Naked and Dress Your Family In Corduroy And Denim. His collection of narrative essays, Let’s Explore Diabetes With Owls, was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Spoken Word Album in 2013.

In this series 6 Music takes a closer look at the musical influences of the most successful writers, and how they weave those influences throughout their work. The last series featured authors including Tony Parsons, Carl Hiaasen and Liz Pichon.
