Desert Island Discs Revisited: Yoko Ono

In the last of BBC Radio 4 Extra’s Artists season of Desert Island Discs Revisited, the guest is an artist inextricably linked with some of the defining moments of pop culture in the late 1960s and 1970s.

In 2007 Kirsty Young's castaway was Yoko Ono. She was already an avant-garde artist in her own right when, in 1968, she started dating one of the most famous men in the world, John Lennon. Speaking decades after his murder, she discusses how it felt to be so reviled in the press, looks back on their life together and recalls the night of his death.

  • First broadcast on Radio 4 in 2007.
