Heir Hunters

Michael Buerk joins the Heir Hunters team as presenter for the new series, as the genealogy detectives aim to reunite valuable estates with their rightful heirs.

The first episode of the new series looks into the case of Melvin Barker, a retired postman who owned his own property in central London. In addition to this, his older brother bequeathed to him nearly £300,000 in his will and when the Heir Hunters team do some further digging, they find out that Melvin’s total estate is worth over £1.2 million. Will the team be able to track down the rightful heir?

In searching for beneficiaries to his estate the Heir Hunters also uncover a tragedy in the family after discovering an uncle who worked as a
trawler man was part of the crew of a ship which went missing at sea, leaving its 16 sailors presumed dead.

Meanwhile, there’s also the tricky case of Trevor Rawlinson where some good old fashioned detective work by the Heir Hunters reveals a huge
family tree.
