The Children In Need Takeover

The Children In Need Takeover will see shows across the day on Radio 2 hand over their entire playlists to the children, staff and volunteers from projects around the UK that are supported by Pudsey's piggy bank.

From 6.30-9.30am Sara Cox kicks off The Children In Need Takeover on the Breakfast Show with fun guests from the world of children's TV, plus live music from The Vamps. The band are best known for their hits including Can We Dance, Wild Heart and Last Night.

From 9.30-noon Ken Bruce has more brilliant guests from the world of children's TV, including Dick & Dom. Rochelle, one of the presenters for this year's BBC Children in Need Appeal show, will also be choosing her Tracks Of My Years. Plus there will be a live Piano Room Session from the artist behind this year's official Children In Need single.

On the The Jeremy Vine Show (12 noon to 2pm) Jeremy talks to writer and broadcaster, Barbara Want, about issues surrounding childhood mental health and how Children In Need helps.

On Steve Wright in the Afternoon (2-5pm) Steve brings the listeners Factoids from Hacker T Dog, the puppet dog who presents CBBC. Presenter Ade Adepitan chats about presenting the appeal night show on TV and Tim Smith has a backstage pass at the BBC TV studios before tonight's big appeal show. Plus, Steve encourages some Serious Fundraisin' and has some special Pudsey-themed Non Stop Oldies.

Simon Mayo Drivetime (5 – 7pm) brings The Children In Need Takeover to a close with All Request Friday. He wants to hear from the listeners and their kids if they’re fundraising for Children In Need today. Plus, listen out for a special caller on the phone...
