BBC Radio 1’s Teen Awards

Ep. 1/1 -

The number 1 teen event of the year returns as BBC Radio 1 broadcasts live from The SSE Arena, Wembley for Radio 1’s Teen Awards 2017.

The event, which honours the UK’s unsung teenage heroes as well as the year’s best music, online, sport and entertainment stars, will be hosted by Nick Grimshaw and Rita Ora, and as well as musical performances from Liam Payne, Rita Ora, The Vamps, Camila Cabello and Dua Lipa, there will be appearances by celebrity award winners and award presenters.

Radio 1’s Teen Awards is one of the biggest moments in the pop music calendar, with an audience of 10,000 14-17 year-olds, and the recognition of three very special Teen Heroes at the heart of the event. Nominated by Radio 1 listeners, the deserving winners in 2017 were chosen by a panel of judges consisting of Radio 1 DJs and former Teen Heroes.

The event also crowns celebrity winners for Best British Solo Artist, Best British Group, Best International Solo Artist, Best International Group, Best Single, Most Entertaining Celebrity, Best Film, Best TV Show, Best Sports Star, Best Game and Best Single - with special surprise guests dropping by to present awards to some of the categories.

Radio 1’s Teen Awards will be broadcast live on Radio 1, streamed live on Radio 1’s BBC iPlayer channel, BBC Red Button and Radio 1’s website, with highlights available to watch on Radio 1’s YouTube channel.
