BBC African Footballer of the Year 2016

Join Africa's finest for a star-studded celebration of the continent's best football players at the launch of this year's BBC African Footballer of the Year award.

In this year's search for the continent's best football player, the BBC is hosting a live show to kick off two weeks of voting, where fans will decide who is the BBC African Footballer of the Year 2016.

The BBC's Peter Okwoche will be joined by a panel of experts, including Steven Piennar, the former South African captain who plays for Sunderland; Tresor Lualu, former DR Congo international; and Eniola Aluko, the Nigeria-born England international who plays for Chelsea Ladies.

The show will unveil this year’s shortlist and feature contributions from all four corners of the continent to celebrate the impact Africa has made on world football, as well as hearing from former winners of the award.
