CBBC @ Radio 1’s Teen Awards

The number 1 teen event of the year returns in 2016. With the ticker tape barely settled, CBBC will be broadcasting the best of the afternoon’s events and performances straight after the show itself, which honours the UK’s unsung teenage heroes as well as the year’s best music, online, sport and entertainment stars.

Radio 1’s Teen Awards 2016 will feature a star studded line-up of pop acts including Jess Glynne, Shawn Mendes, Little Mix, The Vamps and DNCE, while Radio 1 Breakfast host Nick Grimshaw will present the star-studded ceremony and will be joined throughout the event by some special co-hosts.

Radio 1’s Teen Awards is one of the biggest moments in the pop music calendar, with an audience of 10,000 14-17 year-olds, and the recognition of four very special Teen Heroes at the heart of the event. Nominated by Radio 1 listeners, the deserving winners in 2016 were chosen by a panel of judges consisting of Radio 1 DJs and former Teen Heroes. In conjunction with BBC Make it Digital, there will also be The Make it Digital Teen Hero Award.

The event also crowns celebrity winners for Best British Solo Artist, Best British Group, Best International Solo Artist, Best International Group, Best Single, Most Entertaining Celebrity, Best Film, Best TV Show, Best Sports Star, Best Vlogger and Best Game - with special surprise guests dropping by to present awards to some of the categories.
