Sport Relief 2016

The Sport Relief Weekend is kicking off with a stellar line-up of sport and entertainment stars, bringing viewers an unmissable evening of entertainment broadcast live from Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park on Friday 18 March.
TV favourites including John Bishop, Gary Lineker, David Walliams, Claudia Winkleman, Davina McCall, Greg James and Alesha Dixon, will present the star-studded Friday night extravaganza featuring original sketches, special celebrity performances and highlights from this year’s challenges.
After nearly 40 years off our screens, Michael Crawford will reprise his role as Frank Spencer in a special one-off Some Mothers Do ‘Ave Em in a sketch that will see hapless Frank in a number of calamitous escapades culminating in a chance meeting with cycling legend Sir Bradley Wiggins at the Lee Valley VeloPark.
We will also see the return of Luther (Idris Elba) donning his infamous coat to uncover a serious case of hilarity in an unmissable sketch. The super-sleuth will be joined by Lenny Henry, Rio Ferdinand, David Haye, Denise Lewis, Cecilia Noble, Louis Smith, Ruth Wilson and Ian Wright.
Five time Olympic champion rower Sir Steve Redgrave and cricket legend and broadcaster Andrew ‘Freddie’ Flintoff MBE will be donning their sports kit as team captains for the return of the hugely popular Clash of the Titans. Their teams will go head to head in a number of sporting challenges at Queen Elizabeth Park hosted by Dan Walker and Ore Oduba.
More laughs are in store as some of the nation’s favourite comedies and sports stars will join forces in sketches. The show will also feature live music performances including the first performance of the official charity single.
Powerful reminders of the serious side of Sport Relief will be shown throughout the night with moving appeal films, presented by the likes of Danny Dyer, Marvin and Rochelle Humes, showing how the money raised could help change lives both here in the UK and around the world.
