Jo Whiley

Jo is live from South By South West in Austin, Texas. The annual music festival gives upcoming artists the chance to perform in front of a huge audience of music lovers and industry experts.

BBC Introducing will host a showcase at the festival to bring some of their favourite musicians to the big stage. Two of the acts on the bill for the showcase are Billie Marten and Frances, and Jo will have live music from both singer-songwriters tonight.

BBC Introducing has hosted a showcase at the festival since 2008 and has provided a platform for artists including Florence And The Machine, Jack Garratt and Royal Blood. BBC Radio 2 is no stranger to SXSW either and has attended the Texas event for more than 12 years. The network’s showcases have helped launch the careers of a host of successful artists including Embrace, Corinne Bailey Rae, The Zutons, Richard Hawley and Goldfrapp.
