Poets’ Tree

Ep. 1/4 -

BBC Radio’s commitment to serious poetry is balanced by a less-than-reverent look at the art form.

Kevin Eldon’s creation, cult poet Paul Hamilton - famously dubbed ‘a diabolical libertarian’ by the Poetic Literary Review - fronts this ‘poetry-type’ series.

Eldon (It’s Kevin, Big Train, Brass Eye) and long-term associate Stewart Lee (Fist of Fun, Comedy Vehicle) co-compose the prosaic nuggets which are admirably interpreted by Peter Serafinowicz and Olivia Colman.

Hamilton’s work is finally available in print in the anthology: My Prefect Cousin. Frustrated, long-term followers of Hamilton will be delighted to learn that Shadows of Reflections, the much-vaunted ‘soon-to-be-but-never-actually-published’ collection is contained therein.

First broadcast on Radio 4 in 2008.
