Tennis: Wimbledon 2014

Sue Barker presents live tennis from Wimbledon as the 2014 Championships get under way.

Over the next fortnight, the BBC will have unrivalled coverage as the world’s top players battle it out for the honour of adding their name to Wimbledon’s prestigious roll of honour – also on offer is a £1.76m cheque to winners of the men’s and women’s singles.

All eyes will be on Andy Murray, who will be first in action on Centre Court today, an honour traditionally bestowed upon the defending men’s champion.

This time 12 months ago, former champion Rafael Nadal become a first-round casualty at the hands of Steve Darcis – Murray will want to avoid a similar fate today.
