Debbie McGee
Dust off your dancing shoes, Strictly Come Dancing is waltzing back onto BBC One for its 15th series.

The last time I danced was over 35 years ago.
Why are you taking part in Strictly this year?
I just love Strictly so it was for every reason you can imagine. I love the glamour, the music, everything! I have dreamt of doing Strictly, I’m a big fan of the show. I’m most looking forward to being in the studio with a live band, just having the atmosphere when you have a live band playing, there is just nothing like that.
Have you got any previous dance experience?
The last time I danced was over 35 years ago. I’ve never had any experience in this type of dancing, but I learnt ballet and modern tap when I was a child and I did dance for a few years but that was 35 years ago, so now it’s like starting from scratch.
What will be your biggest challenge during Strictly?
I think my biggest challenge will be getting my body to move. I’m good at learning things so I think I’ll pick up the steps. I’m just worried that halfway through I will forget, especially when you’re live and the nerves take out.
How far do you hope to make it in the competition?
I haven’t really been thinking about how far I’ll get, I just hope I get through for a decent amount of time and I’m not the first or second to go. I would love to get through to Blackpool and Halloween is my birthday so I would love to still be in the show then.
