"I’m well aware that people might look at me and be like, how is she going to survive in the country? But I think I’ll be alright, everything is about adapting and I’m good at that."
Ambitious creative designer Chi runs her own agency, and is no stranger to collaborating with others or discovering new cultures all over the world, and has worked extensively abroad. Having spent the last 20 years living in Brixton, Chi is intrigued to explore what a rural life in Tuscany would be like, and is interested in how the locals will react to her West African heritage wares.
Chi has never married or had children and she finds it easy to adapt to new places, taking her sewing machine everywhere so that she can make clothes, jewellery, soft furnishings, bags and accessories. She is regularly hired to complete shop refits and rebranding projects, as her artistic side - alongside her practical side - enables her to create objects where she sees there is a gap in the market.
Chi is now looking to embark on her next challenge - setting up a stylish guest retreat in southern Europe for which she can design the interiors, as well as selling handmade goods at local markets.
